AUGUSTO BASCHERA

Musician – guitarist, classical guitarist, composer, and arranger.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar and a Master’s degree in Performance (Guitar) from the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML), Portugal.


From a very young age, he performed at international folk music festivals throughout South America, touring countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Mexico.
He has received awards in competitions as an instrumentalist, composer, and arranger.
As a composer, he has released four albums under his own name, the most recent being APÓCRIFO (2025).
Augusto has been widely acclaimed by the international jazz and contemporary music press, receiving recognition in publications such as Simply Jazz Talk, Jazziz, All About Jazz, Jazz.pt, Caravan, and Latin Jazz.


As a sideman, arranger, and producer, he has collaborated on more than twenty albums.
He was invited as a guest soloist by the ESML Symphony Orchestra in Lisbon, Portugal, performing Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez.


As an educator, he has taught classes at renowned institutions, including the Ponta Delgada
Regional Music Conservatory, the Angra do Heroísmo Music Conservatory, the University of Minho, the Santa Catarina State University (UDESC), and the University of Passo Fundo.
He is the creator and developer of the distance-learning music education platform Nosso Folclore App, which won the Creation and Training – Cultural Diversity public grant in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.


He composed the original soundtrack for the film MARIA, written by Diego Müller, which was
awarded Best Short Filmat the Brazil International Monthly Independent Film Festival (BIMIFF).
He was a member of MEDINEA (Mediterranean Incubator of Emerging Artists), an initiative created by the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, France.
Augusto Baschera has performed in major concert halls and festivals worldwide, in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Spain, France, England, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Portugal.
